2017 Petit Verdot
From the Winemaker
"Petit Verdot is always one of the very last grapes we pick at Lambert Bridge. The inky dark color of this wine and spicy characters (think: black peppercorns) jump out each time I pull a cork. It's not for the faint of heart but it is certainly delicious!" - Jennifer Higgins
Petit Verdot has become something of a mystical legend here at Lambert Bridge. So little of it is made, that upon release we sadly have very little to share in the way of tasting. But don't despair..this new vintage is simply stunning! Aromas of violets and flowers spring forth with additional blueberry pie notes. The palate is full and dense with blackberries, spicy black pepper, warm graham cracker crust and additional layers of blue fruit. While delicious now, this wine could also benefit from some extended time in the cellar to round out the tannins. A powerhouse wine, Petit Verdot could best be described as an iron fist in a velvet glove!
